Butts for Boobs, Day 1
Serena is on her way! She got a bit of a late start, leaving Lake Forest at about 2:30pm instead of mid-morning. By the time we “spotted” her using our borrowed GPS tracking device, she was somewhere between Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo on Highway 101. Friends at Our Place, where Serena practices her bar tending skills, eagerly awaited each update. Paso Robles, Salinas, Gilroy, San Jose, and finally San Francisco. She has covered 480 miles so far, so she has a long road ahead to complete her first Iron Butt. But she has plenty of time, as she doesn’t have to break mile 1000 until 2:30 tomorrow.
Butts for Boobs, Day 2
Serena’s on her way again! She is now 750 miles from home, in Weed, CA just south of the Oregon border. She only needs 250 miles between now (9:15am) and 2:30 this afternoon to complete her first Iron Butt!
Perhaps now is a good time to give you an update on pledges and donations. So far, we have a total of $150 pledged per Iron Butt and $0.10 per mile beyond 5,000 for the trip. We also have cash donations of $168 in hand as of the end of Day 1. Thank you to everyone who is supporting Serena on this adventure!
Butts for Boobs, Days 3-4
Our last tracking of Serena put her in Walla Walla, Washington. She was moving when we saw her, but since then we have lost track via the GPS. We are confident Serena is on her way to Sturgis and will update you as soon as we know more…
Butts for Boobs, Day 5
Hark! We have located Serena in Newcastle, WY, just 67 miles from Sturgis. She is spending the night there, and will spend tomorrow night in Sturgis. She has now completed TWO Iron Butts, so now is the time to pledge your donation to Breast Cancer Survivors, knowing it will make a difference to someone right here at home who is struggling with breast cancer and needs financial help.
